I have bought a rather nice writing slope on ebay, however the lock doesn't work at all. Its quite easy to remove though and in fact I suspect that its not the original one anyway. I've hunted around but the only supplier of replacements I could find is in america and the p and p is huge.

Does anyone know of a UK supplier of writing slope (wooden box) locks please? Either new or old but they must work and come with a key.

Woofy just picked up my tablets for relaxing arm muscles and it is Diazapam, I am a bit worried as I don't want to become a zombie or addicted. Will I be ok taking it for a few days, it's one at night? Will I get other symptoms. Am I. Great doubt as to whether to take it or not,

I have also now changed my Mexico, a shame really but no idea when mine is reappearing if ever,

Neti, my man what does had to give up full time work around 15 years ago because of a bad back. He went on a low dose of diazepam, still takes it, and he reckons its the best thing he ever did. You won’t get addicted. It might make you tired (hence take it at night) it might give you a dry mouth, so keep water by the bed. Diazepam has got a very bad press because it was handed out like smarties...same as antibiotics really. Used properly and taken for short periods, its a very safe med.
Thanks for that woofy, very reassuring! I didn't survive the 60s and 70s only to become a druggie at 72!
a zombie, oh no, neti, you wouldn't want to look like one of those, people would stare

That's just it jno that is normal.for here.
Mr N has trotted off to his 10 pin bowling and I had a delicious lobster thermidor and a lovely hot bath. Ahh peace
I wish to make an announcement!

I have taken 5mg of diazepan!

well done!
Good morning all! Did we all sleep well. Mr N had a nice time bowling, he came 2nd and won 17€! He came in at 00.15 and didn't disturb me and slept in hijas's room. I had a raging headache, which is not something I ever get, I blame the diazapam. Arm hurts like billyo today and it cracks whenever I'm move it, does that sound right woofy, for muscles?
Very sunny but a bit chilly.
I thought diazepam was a relaxant? Easing those tired muscles ought to mean you're less likely to get headaches, at least from tension.
Question Author
Try drinking more water today Neti, dehydration can cause headaches. I think it will take more than one night to ease any muscle spasm in your arm, additionally you may have something underlying the muscle spasm which can’t be assessed until the spasm is relieved. One of the causes of muscle spasm is pain, the muscles lock in an attempt to limit the pain. Headache is an unusual side effect of diazepam...the trouble with less common side effects is that if they are reported, they get added to the side effects list and it may be co incidence and not causation......how worried are you about taking the valium? it might be that the worry has caused the headache or because you slept deeply you got into a position that caused the headache and didn’t move to get out of it. Has the headache gone now?
Had headache for about half an hour but that went bit elbow has swollen and just cannot use my hand or put pressure on it. Pain shoots right up to the shoulder. Am fed up. Will take diazepan til Monday then see new Mexico or go to urgencias can't stand it now.
But is shaneys leg ( that came out as shanks lag so had to redo it! ) visit to nurse today wasn't it?
And Robi? Feeling any better?
Question Author
That sounds sensible Neti. That way when you go you can say you have given the diazepam a fair trial. Exception would be if you feel hot (feverish) or sick dizzy or you get swelling anywhere else or the arm goes hot and red. In that case, straight to urgencias because it might be an infection like poor shaney’s leg.
Thanks woofy, sorry everyone for moaning, there's not much wrong.

Hope you are all OK. Ouch hurts to type on laptop!
Hello all
Bit grim here ,pouring with rain ,blowing a gale .
Hope you feel a bit better Neti and you too Robinia.Yes,you'll have to give the drugs a chance Neti but if no better after the weekend go back.
My leg is still attached to my body .Yesterday I sat with an ice pack on it as it was so painful.I also had the hot cushion on my back at the same time. Just needed someone to peel me a grape really :)
I've got a hydrocolloid dressing on it now whatever that is .I'll join you in the fedupness corner Neti .
KBO.
Yes shaney we'll sit and grump together. I hate not being able to rush about doing things
And I have a pile of ironing but am not risking it. It's only bedding.

I have been walking up and downstairs carrying things today. Its my big annual craft stash clear out and also I have to put away all my christmas crafting stuff. I had a load of stuff for making cards for children but the children I made cards for are now all grown up and the lady I used to give cards to to sell for charity says that since there is a local shop which sells cards at 5 for a quid, she can no longer sell them. So I am passing a load of my cards for kids stuff and stuff that has gone out of fashion on to whoever by listing it on freecycle. I have definitely exercised my shoulders legs and back. Next step is to sort and put away my fabric stash, then the christmas decorations.
Oh goodness me woofy, that is quite sad, although I am guilty of buying 10 for a £1. You take,it easy, there's enough knackered biddies atm,
Can I just ask another thing returned my arm? It cracks everything I move it and now I cannot straighten it with the palms facing front, it goes at an angle like I am indicating right! I think I am becoming a hypochondriac, just reassure me,
That's a shame Woofy .I used to do a bit of card making ,decoupage stuff mostly but I find it too fiddly now with my fumbly fingers. My SiL used to make lovely cards and my old school friend does lovely cross stitch cards,I had one for my birthday.
I still buy hand made cards though at the local craft shop. They had some lovely ones at Christmas of places round here ,the church, riverside etc. They were a couple of quid a pop but nice for special people.
Neti, if it's cracking it sounds as if it's to do with either your elbow or your shoulder .Bones crack ,muscles don't .Go and ask them for an Xray.
What with your arm and my leg we would be useless in a relay race :)
Night all .Sleep toight.

to Shaney got there before I did...joints make noise and muscles don’t. But, as I said, sometimes muscles go into spasm to protect joints....but it seems like you will be getting to meet your new mexico!
