King Athelstan

How about Edward VI who died at 15 and never married.

King Edward VIII did not marry until after he gave up his job.

St Edward the Confessor was married for 35 years but died a virgin because of his religious beliefs (?), so it could be argued that his marriage was invalid (by today's standards at least)

I would go for Edward VIII.
How about Edward V, one of the princes in the Tower?

Some of the above answers are moot points.

As Athelstan ruled Wessex and Mercia and not all of England can he be classed as a full English King, and as Edward VIII eventually married even though he abdicated he still had a wife, Edward V never had a coronation, so the answer must be Edward VI.

William II, also known as William Rufus, never married. Son of William I, he reigned from 1087 to 1100.
