I was rather hoping the manic shelf-clearing was now at an end … the culprits must have enough by now, surely? Apparently not. My friend has just told me that shelves in our local supermarket are practically empty - again.

Supermarkets need to stop them and put a limit on numbers. The culprits are probably making a profit on their spoils by reselling. The swines!

Could be, LB.
In Waitrose and Marks and Spencer today, the only notable absences were toilet rolls and hand sanitiser. There were some gaps, small gaps, in the tinned goods, but everything else was normal.
They put limits in my local Tesco. One hand sanitizer per customer; two tins of beans; two tins of each variety of soup.
I managed to get a hand sanitizer today!
Got my rum at morrisons.

Where from The Devil?
Has anybody popped into Fortnum & Mason or Harrods lately?
Just wondering if their shelves are bare.
All the bars in Ontario are closed. I might have to make a stop at the beer store and the liquor store to clean off some shelves selfishly. (See how fast you can repeat the last three words of the previous sentence:))
It's all very well telling the panic buyers to stop but when we are reading reports that lockdown could last 18 months to two years, it's fuelling the panic buying.

The papers should be held accountable for inciting the stupid behaviour of the public.
What's the chances of a riot?
Smashing shops for televisions beer and anything else not screwed down.
My Daughter in law, saw two young women both filling their large trollies full of toilet rolls, and was overheard to have said, they will make a killing...Obviously to sell them on. A lady who heard what they said too, told them what she thought and reminded them that older people are struggling to find any left. They promptly told her to F. Off... Nice...
Well stores wont have restocked yet. Some have panic stripped the warehouses of goods.
Around here they have just started advertising for casual shelf fillers so the supermarkets are trying to sort things out.

What I dont get about the stock-pilers who buy to sell on is this, what are they themselves going to do when there isnt anything left of what they have sold on?
I can half understand people buying toilet rolls (for instance) for personal use, but what are the ones who buy in bulk and sell on, going to use when the shelves are empty?
Guess they will have to wipe their greedy behinds on the money they made!
They won't sell all of them.
Many people are panic buying because of the panic buyers.
Yes disgraceful.
How are the food banks doing with donations?
