I just had to turn down my daughter's invite to stay with them. I'd already decided that I'm better off not moving from tier 1 to tier 2...not that I could even if I wanted to after Thursday. But putting it into words just reminded me how difficult things are going to get. I'm also worried about her because she's under a lot of work stress. But, that's better than no work stress.
I suppose it's unfair but tbh I can't think of a policy that would be fair to everyone. I don't think there are many people who will come out of this feeling everything's gone swimmingly for them, let alone for anyone else. Mr Tesco and Mr Amazon possibly.
we sure would be, sherrardk, because the government has told rival outlets to close. Tough on corner shops and physical retail outlets generally, good for supermarkets and online businesses who don't pay a lot of tax. I sometimes wonder if that'sfair.
I'm fortunate in not living alone in these times, Pasta but I do know how you feel.
I haven't seen my children since last November. Every one of their planned trips has had to be cancelled. Daughter was due to visit at the end of this month but that has been cancelled. I think either your country or mine will have another lockdown in Jan/Feb so when I'll see her again god knows. If it was worth it and would take us forward I'd not mind so much but the cock-ups both our countries are now making is causing me to question their rules, which I didn't during the first lockdown.
I am totally at ease with my own company but it's the enforced nature of it that feels suffocating and worrying when a light bulb pops if it's even fair to ask someone to pop round and replace (I do).
Knowing we're all in the same boat helps a little but it does get lonesome.
it's one thing in a long, sunny spring, another in the dark days of winter, even if the weather stays tolerable. jno jnr's been assured that fathers will still be allowed in delivery rooms, which I don't think they were last time; they're expecting at the end of the year, which should be out of lockdown but quite possibly won't be.
