sounds like the beginnings of a plea of not guilty on grounds of insanity.
He'd need to be very sick to murder at least 3 young women. Whether he's sick enough to avoid a murder conviction and be convicted on manslaughter on the grounds of diminished responsibility remains to be seen.
For this type of crime, if he's found guilty he should be completely isolated in a cell for the rest of his life.
4getmenot has found him guilty already, judging by the title of this question.
How can he be allowed to claim insanity when he studied criminology? As much as I hate to admit it he is probably quite intelligent. I hope to god he had nothing to do with the Claudia Lawrence case - she is missed greatly around here. I hope they find the others (im sure I heard on the radio they think there are more). I hope he goes down for life!
Insanity has nothing whatsoever to do with intelligence though Greedyfly. It is very often those who are most intelligent that end up 'insane'.
I was gobsmacked when i heard about about the Claudia Lawrence case, me and my wife love York and could not envisage any kind of crime going on there.
I understand that but insanity is often just a great way to relieve your sentence, high security mental ward/room or prison - I know which I would choose!
Gamard your telling me, she used to be my neighbour - we have since moved away.
I'd rather be slammed-up in Belmarsh than Broadmoor Greedyfly.
OMG Greedfly.....What was she like as a person?
TBH I didnt know her personally, I know friends of hers etc... Such a shame, it was horrible when it happened. I feel so sorry for her family. I hope they find her soon, alive. The world we live in beggers belief sometimes.
Very cruel world yes....and i hope she is safe.
Bye the way, you are lucky living in York, would love to live there instead here in boring Derbyshire.
Lol thanks - I find it a tad boring at times, not much to do in ways of sociallizing etc... As I age I like it more, so thats a bonus. I moved up north over 15 years ago and have been here since, I do miss the south though =)
York is my spiritual home greedfly....you can swap with me if you like?...lol!
Lol - rent/house prices are quite high here - dependant on the area. Like everywhere, there are good parts and bad. It would be a nice place to raise children I think (not my plan though).
My dream home would be a apartment or house overlooking York Minster......fantastic!
I used to have a flat/house (quite big) above a shop - you could see the minster from our roof terrace, was nice. Had to move a few months ago. You should move here Garmard, soudn slike you belong. Sorry 4get we have taken over your serious post with tourism and houses =)
Rather talk about York now.
