I have an opened bottle of Brandy from this time last year (used it when I made Christmas cakes). Will it be ok to use it in my cake this year? How long does it last when opened?
Thanks

It will be just fine.
One year I opened a bottle of brandy for the very same job and was still using the same bottle for the same job 4 years later with just as good results.
Thw alcohol is a preservative, so it will last for years, even open.
In our house nothing alcoholic lasts very long once opened!
Should be. I used a bottle of Tia Maria that'd been opened two year's previously, and it was fine!
yes, that'l be fine!
What about Whiskey? I've had an opened bottle for about 6 years, my husband used to drink it, would it be safe to give to visitors?
Yes Gelda.
The older it gets the better, and the more expensive
it costs
NO absolutely not. This will be very, repeat VERY dangerous and must not be done under any circumstances and to remove any temptation or remote chances of this happing.
Please wrap up the bottle and contents and post to me for safe disposal
