Probably been asked many times, but to solve an argument is a Fig Roll a biscuit or cake?

Cheers SteveD, had consulted that first and saw that Fig Roll was listed but didn't see any arguments about why it should be included as a biscuit.
How about this as a rule of thumb?
Biscuits go soft, Cakes dry out.
100% biscuit. Made to be dunked in tea, unlike cakes.
Yes I always thought the way to tell was when they go off cakes go hard biscuits go soft....
yeh biscuit - cause jaffa cAkes are sold undr biscuit
I think Jaffa cakes are cakes though as they have a sponge base.
