Rice Pudding

My little daughter is the only one in the house who eats rice pudding, but making small batches is a pain. Can I make a bigger amount and freeze it? Many thanks!

Rice pudding freezes well, but don't freeze a huge amount in one container, as once you defrost it you must eat it, so it is best to do small batches. Used butter tubs or similar are ideal for this, you can do a couple of dozen at a time, just save up those tubs!

Brilliant! Thank you so much! I've got lots of little containers that I used to freeze baby food in, so they will be perfect for the job. Any idea how long it will keep for in the freezer?
I might add that you can buy small freezer containers quite cheaply, and they are always re-usable. Incidentally, your daughter has good tastes, rice pudding is good for you!

Have you ever tried making rice pudding in a slow cooker. Absolutely creamy and delicious and makes quite a large quantity.

Thank you Wendillia - what a good idea. I'll give it a go when I want to make larger quantities! I guess the timings are pretty much the same as if I were to cook it in the oven?
i do mine on the lowest setting for 4 to 5 hrs and if you do it with evaporated milk it is better still.
