I asked my other half to get me some ground rice, he came home with a whopping great 3kg bag of rice flour, does anyone use rice flour and if so what do you make with it. I have googled rice flour and come up with one of those american cookery sites which didn't have anything to tempt me, so if anyone has any ideas I would be grateful, maybe I could use it like ordinary flour? I once asked him to get me some pudding rice and he came back with a tin of rice pudding, bless he is trying, yeh, very trying!!!

Don't have to be a Delia to use it. It is a wheat substitute so if you would use ordinary flour, just use the rice flour in place.

Anyone you know with allergies to wheat will love you if you let them know you are baking your gingerbread men with it, etc etc. Recipes to try here: http://www.recipes4us.co.uk/Specials%20and%20Holidays/Special%20Diets%20Allergies/Gluten%20Free%20Recipes.htm

I made some Indian style pancakes with rice flour last weekend and very nice they were too. Make a batter with chopped onion, yoghurt, cumin, flour and water. Whisk until smooth and fry. Made a curry filling and coconut chutney...yum,. yum.

You can also use it to make the corn cakes that you get in Thai restaurants.
