Hi,

Would it be ok to buy chicken breasts fresh, freeze, thaw, then freeze again?

How about from fresh to frozen, then thawed, then cooked, then frozen again?

Basically I have quite a few chicken breasts in the fridge which I froze when I first got them and thawed them out. However I'm not going to eat them very soon and it seems a waste to chuck them out. I don't mind cooking them and then freezing them, but is that ok?

Once your chicken breasts have thawed, you must cook them before you can refreeze them. And make sure you reheat them thoroughly when you come to eat them.
you could try one of the many cook-in sauces available. i.e. Chicken tonight. Cook them in that and re-freeze. You'll then have some tasty home made ready meals.
You can't re-freeze raw meat but it's fine to freeze again if it's been cooked first. You just have to make sure you re-haet it properly when you come to use it. Try dividing the chicken breasts in to sandwhich bags before you freeze them, that way you only have to take out the amount you need next time. Hope I helped.
