It has to be Maple Syrup for me. Lemon and sugar is too gritty.
I make my pancakes American styley. So we’ll have them with maple syrup, though I’ll probably cook some blueberries and raspberries to make a jammy sauce to have with them. We’ll also have the obligatory squirty cream.
Sugar and fresh squeezed lemon!
Every year I tell myself that I'll have some pancakes on Shrove Tuesday but I nearly always seem to forget about it on the day! However, if my tired old brain cells recall correctly, I did remember to have them last year but I cheated and had American-style pancakes (bought ready made from a supermarket), rather than making the 'proper' ones that my mother always made.

As a kid, pancakes were always served with lemon juice and sugar. I still like that combination but, if I do have some pancakes tomorrow, it's probably more likely that I'll have either honey or maple syrup on them, together with clotted cream ice-cream.
australian recipe

one cup of plain flour
one egg
one cup of milk

enjoy!!
Thanks for the reminder, it'll be seafood for me then maybe an ice cream with chocolate sauce or cherries.
I will be having them Canadian/American style with Aunt Jemima syrup and bacon.
By the way, happy Mardi Gras:)
>>> Aunt Jemima syrup ???

I take it that political correctness hasn't yet reached your part of Canada, Sanmac. It's Pearl Milling Company these days!

I know that, Buenchico, but I still have 3 bottles of Aunt Jemima...Maybe I should put them on eBay:)
Mardi Gras gets about as far as Hastings here in the UK, with the Fat Tuesday Festival being held there. Everywhere else though, we reserved and boring Brits simply tuck into some pancakes ;-)

>>> Maybe I should put them on eBay

Yes, along with your g0lliwog collection, Sanmac ;-)
A new British store opened here recently and I bought a jar of Robertson's marmalade...There was no Golliwog in it!
We’ll be having honey and lemon with sliced banana on the side.
The only way for us would be squeezed fresh lemon juice and a little dugar sugar. I love the crunchiness and lemons are my favourite fruit.

Sugar and lemon, absolutely scrumptious/

Didn't Trudeau slap tariffs on black-faces? :-))
Dugar sugar isn't easy to find :0((
Very good, alba:)
Ground cockroach powder with a hint of gnats wee to take away the bitterness.
And if you haven't tried it, don't knock it:-)
^^^ Anyone who is looking to follow Ken's advice, but who has difficulty finding gnat's wee on supermarket shelves, should note that it's commonly sold under the brand name 'Carlsberg' ;-)
