Further to bhg481's thread, here's another painting to identify. But in this case I know the location, which I will reveal tomorrow after you've had a few guesses ;-)

East India Company Docks?
Chatham Docks?
I'm thinking they are unloading cotton so will hazard a guess at Liverpool Docks.
Oh my word! After reading APG’s answer, I did some googling.
Found an almost identical image...am keeping quiet as have had my guess.
Manchester.
I think its west coast, as in the main, the east coast ports were more about fishing and shipping. Although it could be London of course, however I'll take a guess at Bristol.
Weymouth Quay?
I'd go Liverpool too
Is it somewhere in North Korea, last week?
Preston?
Bristol Docks?

Watchet (Somerset, on Bristol Channel) - much changed now so difficult to compare.

[jakep, I'd like to see your image]
Gosh, I`d never have guessed that.
I was close!!
I wonder if it was lime they were unloading (not cotton as has been mentioned) There were a lot of limb kilns along that coast. Some are still there.
*lime*
Apologies Canary, I’ve been unsuccessful in re-finding it. Was a random google and can’t remember exact words!!
PS ‘My’ pic was actually Preston, so wrong anyway.
