I bought them thinking they are just like crisps although very pricey, but they are low in fat and 'naturally packed with nutrients, zinc, iron & B vitamins.'but I can't figure out what you would have with them. They look like pieces of waxed paper and are very fishy and very salty. Usually I eat crisps either on their own or with a sandwich, but I can't imagine what type of sandwich you could have them with, and on their own they just crumble in your mouth. Any ideas?

What are they called?

"very salty"...that's all the other "health benefits" wiped out.....
yes they are dried seaweed. I tried them and liked the flavour but not the texture. They are quite expensive too. They are a snack, you just eat them on their own.
Ughh no !
Interesting. I do enjoy eating seaweed but preferably fresh or at a pinch open a tin of Laver Bread. This product looks like it is in the prawn cracker league. I might try out of curiosity.
I've not looked at the link as I'm on my phone. But you can use them to put other savoury things on...like pate or cheese...depending on the flavour.

woofgang I wondered if perhaps they go on canapes because they are a very strange thing to eat on their own.Don't think I'll be buying them again.
retro, they're nothing like prawn crackers, I love those.
Aren't these used to make Sushi? Deffo not something I would eat on it's own :S
A review on Tesco "You know the smelly slime covered stones on the beach? Tastes like they smell." - my exact thoughts.

Pasta I don't think they would go with normal cheese but perhaps cream cheese and smoked salmon on a little cracker.
They look too thin to spread anything on, not something I'd choose.

Lol TD, I hadn't read the reviews, but the person who said that isn't too far wrong.
My brother had them.

Look horrible - reminded me of algae.

Ah hah! I tried those a few years ago. Yep...super expensive for something that won't put a dent in your hunger, even if you eat all the packs. A bit like fishy communion wafers...;)
I'd probably like them. Are they salty like seafood salty (mussels mainly) or do they have added salt?
They've got added sea salt. I'd have thought seaweed would be naturally salty. I didn't find them to be particularly salty when I tried them.
I've just read through the 38 reviews on the Sainsbury's web site - they seem to have the Marmite® syndrome - you love them or hate them. Some of the 1-star reviews (there are only 1-star and 5-star reviews) are quite amusing, the overall rating is 3-star. I will have to try them. Perhaps we could all pledge to try them then get Ed to set up a poll ;-)
I'm not keen on added salt like on crisps and nuts.
