Mmmm, I wish I'd tried this dish before. Never been a great fan of lamb. How delicious it was! First time I had ever tasted it, after a meal out with my sister 10 days ago.
I found an easy recipe on line and will definitely be making it soon. Any fans?..

I love it, have had it in Greek restaurants, my all time favourite.
Before giving up potatoes I used to love a home made moussaka.
Haven't had this in a long while. It's like a shepherd's pie only with aubergine.
I like it though.
I've only tried it in Greece and it was awful. Ironically it was just too greasy!

I do keep meaning to do it myself though. All the ingredients are there to make a lovely meal. Have you got a link to your recipe?
Big fan out ere!!

It's so flavoursome, isn't it Marval? I wish I'd tried it sooner. Always looking for something different to cook during week. I realised I'd spelt it wrong! Lol...
Yes it is flavoursome, really yummy.
Question Author
Thank you Patsy, I will pinch that as well.
My absolute favourite dish x
Question Author
You're welcome Marval. Apparently, it's an easy one!
That BBC recipe is not moussaka that any self-respecting Greek would recognise! No aubergine for a start, no proper cheese sauce on top, no cinnamon (no, sorry, mixed spice will not do), no garlic. Oh dear! If you want a decent recipe look at Delia's moussaka in her Complete Cookery Course.

I would swap potatoes for aubergine..

I'll have a look at that diddlydo. Thanks. There is quite a few recipes out there to try..
The first time you've ever tasted it? Ruddy 'eck! Moussaka was a regular dish on our school dinner menu half a century ago! ( . . . and very tasty it was too!)
Question Author
We never had it Buen! We did have some lovely school dinners though.
Diddly, you obviously did not read the ingredients list properly.
The dish contains two aubergines
when we used to take summer holidays in the Greek islands back in the 70s the village restaurants only used to do two dishes (apart from the occasional octopus if anyone caught one), souvlaki and moussaka. We used to alternate them for the length of the holiday.
Question Author
Jakep, I thought I'd seen aubergine in recipe! Thanks:-)
Another fan here.
