Anyone else be glad to see the back of this year?
Life always has ups and downs...every day, week, year.
This year has been a bit of a bummer for me in many ways but have received unexpected kindness as well to balance it out. Yin and Yang type of thing!
On the whole though, glad to see the back of it. Looking forward to a better 2018.
What about you?

yup me too Nailit..annus horribilis !
Yes....looking forward to a better 2018.

I reach 65 in June, so am hoping to cut down on the amount of work that I take on. Not retiring altogether, as I get bored easily !
2017 wasn't a bad year for the Boo household. 2018 will be better though (I think!) Elder Mini Boo is moving right next door to me, and I can't wait. I'm so looking forward to my grandson trooping in on a daily basis raiding my fridge and cupboards :-)

Have a good 'un nailit x
Re 2017, as I said on your Christmas Eve thread...

A largely good and steady year, no real lows and a few lovely times too - a Family Wedding and a great week away with my Grandchildren.

2018 is shaping up nicely so far, Son in Law has a new job and it's in this Country for the first time in quite a while so the children are pleased as is my Daughter.

I got some decent news on the finances front this morning.

Hope it's a better year for you all.x
had dreadful start to 2017, things improved which was lovely.
Not a happy ending to 2017 but things seem to have calmed down so hopefully 2018 will be ok, different, but ok.

Wishing everyone the best for a healthy and hopefully happy New Year xx
2018 is going to be a very intense and scary year.

I am not looking forward to it in the slightest, looking forward to 2019 though.
In ten days'time I shall be 69 (if I make it) which means I have only one more year to go till the allotted span, threescore years and ten. Anything after that is borrowed time. Not a lot to look forward to.
Parts of this year have been awful and parts have been good. I expect it will be the same next year.

Rain and sunshine.

Will do as always and just deal with whatever is thrown at us, or not, as the case may be.
jesus if I survive until Dec 2018 - I will score it as 10/10
// Not retiring altogether, as I get bored easily !//

no mikey retire and start doing things you like

I retired at 60 and at 60 n 1/4 they said - the reason you have been feeling crap (PP) is that you have a huge tumour in yr abdo and we arent quite sure why the junior missed it .....
Actually, life goes on in it's own way. It doesn't really matter what the date is, does it?
Hope you make it PP to Dec 2018 and beyond!x
I've had a good year with no concerning blips. I rarely find anything to complain about (except his DIY skills)
You've been reading the wrong book, Jackdaw, 70 is the new 50. :-)
2017 started badly. I was in a terrible place and it was only with the support of good friends I got through. Found myself an isolated little cottage to hide myself and lick my wounds.

On 5th Jan I met up with an old boyfriend who I had recently got into contact with after 27 years. He was a superstar and refused to let me hide away and mope. We became close and in September had the holiday of a lifetime.

On Christmas day he proposed to me. So 2018 means a new home and a man I shall be proud to call my husband.
Made my day, Barmaid! Really happy for you.......lots will miss your post...folk who would be happy to hear your news....a fresh post?

Much love and happiness to you both...Gx
oh BM !! that is wonderful news!

(am away to buy a hat lol)

Wishing you both the most wonderful 2018 and forever afterwards xx
2018 will be good.
I'm going to learn Po Facedness....
Ooooo congrats BM!!!

Elder Mini Boo got engaged at Christmas too, so I can now wear my hat twice ;-)
