Is there anything that can be done to make them taste nice?

Me and a friend was talking last night and ideas were try and stuff them with a nut when they’re par boiled, and boil them in a chilli gravy.

Has anyone tried chopping them and frying them?

Is there anything that can be done to them to make them palatable?

I just had an idea, could you boil them then make a tast tempura batter? How would you stop the batter getting soggy?
in my opinion, no, the only choice is between dishwater and swampwater.
google roasted sprout recipes x
friend of the wife has made us sprout bhajis to go with our curry they taste wonderful
Try this method...I'd leave out the stem ginger though. The stir frying would work with all sorts of seasoning. Try adding finely chopped pancetta or streaky bacon.
I forgot to add... DON'T over cook. That kills sprouts.
Here is how I cook sprouts ::

1....Boil for about 1 hour
2....Saute in butter for about 30 mins
3....Throw in the bin !
Is that all you forgot to add, Pasta?
ah ... you've realised, lol
Having a "doh!" moment, Talbot? ;-)
Fried sprouts aka bubble & sqeak tastes good with a sprinkle of vinegar
Dishwater eh ? Well I've never tasted dishwater but it sounds like you've found an improvement.

The only way unpleasant flavours can be neutralised is by other ingredients. Either by finding something that masks the awful flavour, or overwhelms it. My pure guess is to try lots of oil and maybe butter to start with. Perhaps find appropriate favourite herbs and/or spices to enhance with. What about stirring cream in ?
2 minutes in a pan will never qualify as "cooking". At best it's warming a salad, and one won't remove nasty tastes like that. Nor unpleasant salad textures.
O_G...it's the over cooking that causes sprouts...or cabbage/broccoli...to taste vile. The sprouts are sweeter when lightly sauteed.
dont eat them - eat a vegetable you like

parsnips/carrots (mixed)

peas

carrot

cauliflower
all those ab ove vegeta le. I cook them in a taste of boiling water with a couple slices of bacon - then use that for the start of my gravy. lovely
Sprouts are great. The growers have been slowly breeding out the chemicals which cause the metallic taste and lightly cooked, tossed in butter and served quickly they taste wonderful.
Shred and sauté in a drop of water and knob of butter. I'd add pancetta and chestnut pieces but you can add your own bits and pieces.

Don't like 'em, don't eat 'em!
slice finely leave on one side, fry bacon or pancetta when nearly cooked add some butter and let melt then add the sliced Brussels and cook off.
