Due to having had my oven professionally cleaned today, I am never using it again, so tonight we're having a microwave cookable ham and chicken thing from m&s and a load of steamed cauli.
What about you, anything interesting on your menu?

Egg butty and Pizza for later. Tesco may as well be on the far side of the moon, I'm not going anywhere this evening.
Because I'm in India it's great because when I google for recipes that I have seen on room service menus, Indian websites come up so I get really good authentic ones. I keep meaning to gather a little youtube library of them to make at home.
Not a takeaway, Eth, but the samosas, bhajis and nann bread have been bought.
For myself and two of my children are having Ravioli with ricotta, parsley, and tomatoes stuffed in them.....just need to put on the Passata sauce soon, spiced up with a touch of chilli.
Rhubarb crumble and custard, if we have room, for dessert.
Mrs B at work still at the airport, back soon, but out tonight with some girlfriends at a specialised seafood restaurant locally.
I'm upping it a notch tonight from my usual weeknight food. Osso Bucco...slow cooked (rose) veal shin with carrots and shallots. Never done before. Needs very slow cooking, so as I was off today decided to do it. Looking forward to it. Can be served with risotto but I'll not bother.
I must ask my butcher to get some veal in. I really enjoy it but you do have o look around o find it.

I had slices of cold roast veal 'sirloin' in Italy it was absolutely delicious.
Just finished pasta and seafood in parmesan sauce.
I'm trying something like this https://reciperunner.com/one-pot-cheesy-mexican-lentils-black-beans-and-rice/ but with substitutions where needed. I suppose I should go out to the kitchen and dice now.
1/2 a smoked mackerel fillet and 1/2 and avocado
No cracker for a bit of crunch Islay?
Macaroni cheese with toms. Dessert Creme caramel.

Gotta rest from spices as the ferments aint good.
I've been thinking that I quite fancy a Spag Bol tomorrow.

The problem being I have half a tonne of ragu in he freezer with wine in it. Am now trying to think up a quick supper as Mr Cake is heading out that doesn't have alcohol in it.

I wonder how chilli and rice with guacamole, salsa, tortilla chip and some grated cheese will go down.
No Eccles as that is a 'slider food' and I have to avoid those where possible
As I've only got half a kitchen at the moment, will probably be a sandwich or a toastie or something like that.
That's a shame as a bit of crunch or bite would take it to a new level....like you didn't know that!
Eccles...surely the alcohol cooks off.

I'm having carbonara with chicken.
No, Umm. If you burn it off with a flame then yes it is bunt of but if you just simmer 20-60% alcohol can remain!
I never knew that!!

So now I'm having Eccles soup for starter, patsys roast for mains, and yogis rhubarb crumble and custard to finish.
That's what I do Tilly, make a pot of whatever and buy in all the bits and pieces. Haven't done one for ages actually, maybe give it a go at the weekend, mind you it would involve using my immaculate oven.
OG, that looks lovely, so much so I've just learnt how to make a new file on my iPad for recipes, and yours in the first in it. I love all those beany textures. And one pot meals.

All these meals sound nice to be honest, and there's at least two I'm going to make over the next week or so.
It's always the thinking of what to do for a change which drives me mad.
Great. Ta.
