Due to having had my oven professionally cleaned today, I am never using it again, so tonight we're having a microwave cookable ham and chicken thing from m&s and a load of steamed cauli.
What about you, anything interesting on your menu?
So 'lunch' (at around 3pm) was some Cumberland sausages (which had been in the freezer for ages), casseroled in half a jar of Tikka Masala sauce (left over from yesterday's chicken curry), served with a jacket potato (used up before it actually takes root in the cupboard).
I often only eat one main meal a day, so I might not have anything (other than, say, a few biscuits) this evening but, if I do, I'll probably try to use up some cheese. So I might just have cheese on toast or perhaps a chili dish with lots of cheese on top.
OG, I make a spicy bean stew with a tin of butter beans, a tin of chickpeas and a tin of whatever other beans I have, usually borlotti beans. Open cans, open another of chopped tomatoes, tip into a pan, chuck in a couple of teaspoons of paprika and/or any other spices you fancy, maybe a stock cube. Boil up till hot enough. Serve with rice, pasta, bread, whatever is to hand. Job done. Get enthused ;)
We have a singing Swede in our family, she has a lovely voice and has just joined a choir.
Hope your soup is nicer than the ainsley Harriet cup a soup I had recently Eccles (I'm sure it is)
I'll bring some homemade apple sauce if you're bringing stuffing queenie.
A big bowl of Heinz Cream of Tomato soup, with a drizzle of balsamic vinegar and sprinkling of dried basil, and some nice crusty bread....the ultimate comfort food.
Ooh, I have a tin of that somewhere mikey, you're right, comfort food indeed. Never thought of adding balsamic vinegar or dried herbs, used to dump some grated cheese in it though.
Are you away in foreign parts again 237SJ?
I didn't think you ate Indian food Tilly, I must be getting mixed up with someone else. Or is it Chinese food? All sounds very nice, is it takeaway or have you made it?
