Ever tried Red Flannel Hash?
What's even worse than having no key is that the key snaps off half way through. You then have no option but to follow Tilly's advice.
It should have still worked. I think the tin is still sealed in the same manner as the round ones.
Go back to the shop, pick up a tin, pocket the key and put the tin back on the shelf.
That looks posh paddywak!!! Last time it happened to me, I ended up cutting the tin in half using my sillicone oven gloves.
I like Eddie's advice!
This should be a standard kitchen appliance, like your potato masher!!
Ma teef.....

tin opener should do it - or a chainsaw?
Axe, firm base such as the back doorstep.
Whack it through the middle
Enjoy.
I've had it years sharon, since I had a stroke.I was ok for the first fortnight after I came out of hospital then Trish went back to work and I discovered it's impossible to use a normal tin opener one handed.
