Ah, that site! I love it. Not sure what there is to explain, other than pointing out the sort of ridiculous crap statistics can appear to tell you if you don't know how to use them. I'm told that this site does the rounds of high-level science talks -- for a bit of a laugh!

Yes, this sort of thing was discussed on Radio 4's excellent More or Less recently. One example they mentioned the excellent correlation between margarine sales and divorce.
