Butter Ok To Eat ?

A couple of weeks ago it was announced that the "experts" are now saying that eating butter would be good for us. True or false ?

I never stopped!
In moderation is fine.
I always have butter, another reason the grandchildren love their butties at Grandmas.
Dont hold your breath, this sort of thing changes like the weather, butter will be a killer again in a few months time.
I don't know but I've always thought that eventually we would be told it's better (or rather not so bad) to eat the real natural stuff like butter and sugar. The 'healthier' substitutes are in fact a concoction of chemicals that we haven't really seen the long term effects of. EG the artificial sweeteners that have now been banned. The only downside is their fat and calorie content. Moderation is the answer.
I've been eating proper butter again for several months and it's done me no harm, in fact i've managed to lose weight whereas when I was eating Lurpak Spreadable my excess weight wouldn't budge.
Everything is fine in moderation. The newspapers change their mind every week.
I've just read that Guardian article provided by Shoota and it mentions eating cheese but not processed cheese. Which cheese is processed?
Isn't processed cheese the plastic squares that you put on burgers?
I think that is the plastic stuff you get in burgers and cheesestrings etc Till.
I think of it as stuff that has been fiddled with like Kraft slices, Crackerbarrel, Dairylea, Philadelphia etc
So Cheddar and Cheshire etc. from the supermarket, is o.k.?
What sweeteners have been banned?
Real butter is natural so go for it. These plastic margarines are just that, plastic!!! Some fat spreads are OK but you need to see what's on the list.
Well cyclamates (as used in SweetnLow) have been banned in the States for years (though not in UK). There's also some argument about the effects of aspartame.

Oh and just checking - apparently Canada has banned saccharin.
