Hello all,

Welcome to this month's Onwards & Downwards. We welcome anyone serious about losing weight and we offer support and kind thoughts - not magic fixes, just sensible help.

How spooky is that the 1st of Octoebr and the weather starts to really turn cold? Hope you have been enjoying that little Indian summer in September now it is time for jackets and warming food.

We could talk about soups and stews (and let's face it we probably will) but I thought a nice change would be stir fry recipes.

This is a wonderfully diverse meal where you can add pretty much anything you like and serve it with anything you like noddles or rice for a lighter dish or crusty bread or even potatoes for something a bit more filling.

Here is one that looks really tasty:

You are most welcome guys.

Me too I love a good stir fry. x
Mmm Stir fry bread. Stir fry bacon. Stir fry eggs. Stir fry black pudding. ......
LOL Old Geezer!

I have stayed the same again this week. I don't remember any naughty moments, so I'm a bit disappointed with that but never mind - onwards and downwards.

I still have courgettes in the garden at the moment so I start with those for my stir fry. I chop them and add what ever else i have in the fridge: maybe some red pepper, small florets of cauliflower, red onion. I fry them fast (in olive oil Fry light) add mushrooms at the end along with a small portion of cashew nuts. I dot in a few dashes of soy sauce and a nest of cooked noodles.
Good Morning All, Love your stir fry Maydup. I have stayed the same this week despite 2 seaside lunches so got off easily there. We had a stir fry consisting of cabbage, onions, cooked rice, mushrooms and shrimp. Add to it oyster and soya sauce.
Up ⅛ lbs this time. Unfortunately it was one of those days when the scales took ages to start being consistent. So unsure how confident I am about it.
Think we all need a kick start. I am shopping for stir fries this week . Stayed the same .
I'm joining the stayed the same group this week too. A little too much vodka didn't help. Good luck all for next week.
Well Jan, stayed is better than the other one you party girl you
A new month, a new start, so good luck to everyone.
Thanks Janbee. How are you doing?
Hello all, I've just popped in to get some inspiration and will-power, as I've lost mine. I've got to stop eating rubbishy food. :-(
It's so easy to start on rubbishy food notafish.....how about sitting down with a nice cup of tea when you have time.....and then making a week's menu and shopping list of good healthy foods that you like. Do this when you have the time and inclination and the inspiration will come from there.....good luck.
Whoops I should have said marijn and not notafish....
I don't mind being called notafish :-). That's a good idea, I will sit down tomorrow and write that shopping list. Thanks Xstitcher.
Let us know if that helps your motivation marijn. I hope so. It works for me.
Would just like to add that if I don't write my shopping for the week I just cannot get into a routine and begin to slide back into my old ways. When you write it all down you can refer back and change it around so that it don't get boring. Good luck for next week
Marijn and I remember you as notafish.
Good Morning All, I agree with what Wendilla said about the menus keeping you on the straight and narrow. Besides it doesn't take that long and it is so nice waking up every day knowing what you will have for dinner.....one job already done in my books.
Today I can see that my exercising (swimming every day...just 10 min) and being very good in the eating department has paid off with a loss of just over 2 pounds. I hope the rest of us get good results.
