Ice Cream Float.

What is / was your favourite pop to use for these, when I was a kid they had to be made with cream soda, I bought a bottle of cream soda earlier and that is what reminded me, now which freezer is the ice cream in?

It's about half a century since I last made one but my automatic choice would definitely be cream soda. However this might be of interest if you're thinking of experimenting with something else:

Definitely cream soda, though I'm struggling to find one that actually tastes like it did years ago, R Whites was the best if I remember rightly.

Lemonade as I don't like Cream Soda, not had one for years though.

Rocky the cream soda from aldi is really nice, I used to like the one from the 'Alpine Man'.

I don't have an Aldi's near me unfortunately, I bought a four pack own brand from Tesco the other week, it was awful, I gave it to the kids. Closest I've found is Ben Shaw's, not perfect though.

Just asked daughter if she'd ever had one, she said she got one from the Ice Cream Man a couple of years ago, might have to get some ice cream now and have one after dinner.

My dad used to be an ice cream man so we always had loads of inappropriates to eat and drink when we were kids.

I used to work in an Italian cafe and we served ice cream floats (we used to put a little water in the base of the glass as it was supposed to stop the foamy stuff going too mental).

Actually I did have something similar to that round a friends house, she put Baileys, vodka and ice cream in a blender, twas very nice!
