Enjoy nungate!

MBH - what about some of the Swiss chocolate slabs which aren't as sweet?
I've said for ages that British chocolate isn't like it used to be, it seems plastic, Belgian chocolate is much better but I don't eat much of it. I prefer savoury snacks.
I know :(
I used to eat it, one day, it just tasted too sweet.
I think the Caramac bars put me off it.
Take the contents of your bank account and go to Hotel Chocolat.

I wonder if I can claim a benefit, because I don't like chocolate ?
ESA ? Carer's Allowance?

(Joke)
I think that chocolate is made with something other than cocoa butter theses days. That's what makes it greasy tasting.
I read the ingredients list on the back of packets (I have a dietry problem) and Cadburys have changed them recently. They now incloude flour. Also some of Nestle sweets. Some chocolate from Aldis is better.
Thornton continental, Mmmmmmmmm lovely.

have you tried the new mcvitie ambers, like a cross between a digestive and a crispy hob nob, covered in chocolate . rather sweet, but nice. X
I agree, with all the additives and artificial sweeteners ( which they like to hide under long chemical names, the worst being aspertame which changes to formaldihide in your cells, Chocolate or any other kind of candy for that matter does not taste like it use to or should. The best chocolate for taste that I have found, is a dark Dutch chocolat bar which in Canada will cost you about $ 2.85 / bar.Dark chocolate is better for you with 70% cocoa ingredient on Label.
Please, let me help.
If anyone has any chocolate that they feel is substandard, just post it on to me c/o AB and I will dispose of it for you.
There is no fee for this service x x
Damn - wish I'd thought to make that offer!
you couldn't finish chocolate ? cripes !!!!!!
The big names in chocolate have all been taken over by conglomerates.
You need to go to Hotel Chocolat and join the Chocolate Tasting Club.
(I'm not employed by them - just writing as a delighted customer!)
Wish I had ignored this thread,Hopkirks post has just reminded me of some hidden in the cupboard.
More in to savoury than sweet, but last time I ate chocolate I thought it was awful. Cadbury milk choc bar. Not as i remember.
I've heard that your tastbuds change as you get older so things don't tast the same as they did when you were a child. However, I have found some chocolate brands are blander than they used to be (Aero is a prime suspect), one of the best bars about is, believe it or not, Asda Smart Price and Aldi/Lidl stuff as they're made on the continent. I also love a bit of Milka!
Ferrero Rocher and I'm anybody's! ;)
