When I am cooking and my wife comes and tries it she tastes it and hums a bit and does a little dance. Obviously this is not a problem for me but my mum used to do exactly the same thing but they never met. So I am asking is this a normal occurrence with women?

No....not for me anyway.
If something is good, I do a bit of Charleston, if very good maybe some Can Can, if excellent, off to bedroom!!
Sorry, I don't understand....a Husband cooking????
and what is wrong with a man cooking?
Hopefully nothing Baza, I'd just like to experience it. I'm not entirely sure my husband can locate the kitchen!

I usually cook as she isn't the best at cooking. I find the whole situation quite strange though..
i do the tasting dance/hum combo too!
Not with me.
Best beloved knows we have a kitchen - only because it came with the house!
Not me, but could it be because it's too hot?
Same as eccles. If my OH had done the cooking I`d have done a Highland Fling, not a little dance.

Ok cris that's slightly reassuring. Thanks
Nope. Just eat it, with appreciation LOL
This can be very common and is known as fad dancing. There are structured dances all related to food but rarely practised now - you wife could be doing one of the following: The Peppermint Twist, the Banana Split, the Big Egg, the Coffee Grind, the Dipsey Doodle, the Doublemint, the Fishin' Pole, the Fridge, the Honey Dipper, the Snacky Poo, and the Turkey Trot.

So there's plenty of variety and steps for her and for you to enjoy - and some interesting research work.
I'll come and cook for you, gness......reasonable cook as well, lets say that without sounding too cocky about it.
Oi, what's gness got that I haven't????

I'm off to baste my chicken and have a little cry.
No, this must be a strange aberration. OH does nearly all our cooking, and although it's yummy, I've never broken into a conga... :-)
cant remember doing a dance for food .... sweets/chocolate i maybe have done

to the ladies who's husbands dont cook.... i hope they do the washing up then......
