Be honest did you really want a son or a daughter, and before the men start they determine the sex, not us women who get put down because they havent produced a son etc etc!!!

OK, i'll be honest. When I was pregnant with Mini Boo I was convinced she was a boy, well until the 2nd scan anyway, and I have to admit to feeling a teeny tiny bit disapointed when I found out she was a girl!!

I feel dreadful for admitting it now :-(

oh boo i have 2 sons oh so wanted a wee girl, my first boy doesnt want to know the younger more loving!!!
puddicat i have 2 sons my older boy is not so loving but my youngest still likes cuddles he is 14 so i better make most of it while i can ...only thing i would of liked a girl for was to dress her up in lovely clothes ..and had a pretty bedroom for her .
With my first I really wanted a girl and I got one I was over the moon, I was young and I kinda thought she would be my friend which she is. My second well I only was pregnant with her because my nasty violent ex had 4 girls already and wanted me to provide him with a boy!! I was terrified of getting it wrong and having another girl he would have been so angry with me! Well I messed up that and had a girl but I was thrilled to have two girls especially as I am now alone and its kinda nice to just be the three of us girls. My eldest adores her sister and my ex has had nothing to do with us never even seen the baby but I think had I had a boy his greatest want in life he would be giving me grief.

big hugs pink bunny, want to swop lol!!!
bet ur glad ur rid of a nasty man like that pink ..glad ur happy with your girls .
i know its side stepping - but can i echo the well done on life after abusive male. i worked in that field for a long time and its great to hear your success 'story'. no doubt you are an inspiration to others. xx
I really felt I was expecting a boy. I was a little torn - on one hand I'd always imagined myself having a girl to do girly things with but I wanted a boy because I knew how much it would mean to my partner.

When I found out it was a boy I was really happy. Not dissapointed at all.

kellogs both my pregnancies were different, still thought the youngest was going to be a girl, maybe because in my head i wanted one!!
I wanted a girl....had amnio as I was an 'older' mum....found out I was having a girl......and stopped at one-lol
Ahh puddicat I am fine with my two gorgeous girls thanks all the same he he x x
Sleepy yeah I am thrilled with my girls my ex left me in such a state after the final attack that I ended up having her 3 months early and we both spent time in intensive care me a week and baby 8 weeks she almost died!! But is doing ok now.
And numerouno thanks for your words he is in court next week charged with the asasaults on me and my eldest. But I am finally free from him and NOTHING in the world is better than that apart from my girls. My girls are the biggest inspiration to me the eldest for coming through living with the violence so well and the baby for pulling through and surviving against all the odds I thank god every day for my beautiful children and regardless of them being boys or girls I adore them with every bone in my body as I am sure any mother would agree. They are my world x x

Dripping tears u are a inspiration to your wonderful girls keep strongxxx
But puddicat its being on here and getting wonderful messages of support like yours that keep me going. I cant talk to family and friend about whats happened in detail as it upsets them too much.
But between thoughtful messages of support from you guys and being privalidged enough to be able to wake up everyday with my kids that gives me the strength to testify against him and send him where he belongs.
Thanks hun much apreciated x x
I have two kids , for my 1st i wasnt bothered whether it was a boy or girl , i had a girl , 2nd one was a boy , i only ever wanted 2 so if number 2 would of been a girl i wouldnt of had anymore anyway cos his birth was horrendous for me ( little ****** .. lol ) i do think little boys are far more loving than girls , im just grateful i could have kids whatever sex they would of been ; )
hee hee what a good thread! I am sorry to say I so wanted a little boy that when I was pregnant I had to find out at the 20 week scan as I was worried if it was a girl and I did not have time to get used to it that I would reject the baby when it was born! How selfish is that! BUT I am sure if my son had been a daughter I would have loved it just as much !
I was desperate for a daughter, and had a girl (now 14). next time around I really didn't mind.

I had a boy (now 11).. like a hurricane in the house! they argue the whole time and it's bl00dy hard work! I do wonder if life would have been easier with 2 girls, much as I'd never swap him.. he's still my baby :o)
I have 5 boys, two from my first marriage and three from the second. I have to admit that we were really hoping for a girl the last time - laws of average and all that lol - but when he was born, I wasn't the least bit disappointed, and with hindsight I am glad. I love all my boys to bits, even though the oldest is nearly 35, and the youngest 18
Whilst i would have loved them no matter what they were, I was hoping through both pregnancies for boys - which is what I had. Little girls frighten the life out of me!

Boys are a whirwind of energy and noise and mess, but i wouldn't swap them. I do sometimes wonder what any girls we could have had would look like, although my 7 year old wanted to grow his hair long for a while so I did get a bit of an idea - he stopped growing it and got it cut when I told him that he was the prettiest in his class! (he was as well ;0) - but then I am biased!
i have 2 girls which is what i wanted for myself but i also wanted a boy as my husband has a son with his 1st wife and i still feel that he favours his son over his 4 girls. i can't have anymore kids but i'm happy with my girls.

pinkbunny i hope that you and your girls have a peaceful, happy life without your ex and i hope you never have to put up with that again.
