Hello, I am doing okay with today's crossword. But, my Granddaughter has asked me for a lifetimes worth of advice so I have decided to ask you helpful folk.

All I could think to say was "Do what you want as long as no one is negatively affected by what you want to do, and try not to get too emotional about things".

Don't be afraid of aiming for a very high target, even if you don't quite reach it you'll have fun trying and learn some fabulous lessons and meet great people on the way.

I'd like to wish this young lady well and say she's great for asking for advice.x
treat people as she would like to be treated x

Just a tip for you Gherkins, a post like this would have been best in the 'Family' topic - it will slide off the page here soon.

But I doubt she needs much help from us, she has you and the rest of her family, she'll do well.x

Enjoy each moment it never comes again, if you love love with your whole heart, and you will find some how you still have more to give. Take time not just to smell the roses but the manure that makes them grow.

Thank you Mamyalynne. I shall try to move my question. I have the crossword section bookmarked next to my The New York Times crossword puzzle bookmark so it took me straight here. I forget that there are other categories on this website.

Never be too scared to take up new things and opportunities.

You will never regret trying something, if it doesn't work out then at least you will know, but you will always regret not giving it a go and never knowing.
Don't bear grudges as they turn you into a bitter person.
Someone said to me recently 'Love is like water, if it's there it will find a way' and I think that's absolutely right. I think it's also fairly true of other things, if something is possible you can make it happen, just do it without harming anyone else, and as Mamya said shoot for the moon, the worse that can happen is you don't quite get there.

Be true to yourself

(always worked for me ;o)
agree with SharonA, don't waste your life on personal feuds, tabloid outrages and so on
Make the most of it. enjoy every minute

Thank you to all. I agree with all of these life tips, I must remember to pass them on to her.
If you have the choice to sit it out or dance.. then dance.
Make every moment count and only regret the choices you didn't make and never regret the choices you did make.
