Can someone confirm that a woman's most fertile time is 12 days after the first day of their period? And as daft as this may sound, how long are you at your most fertile for? My husband and I are trying for a baby but I'm getting confused about when is best!

it is 12-16 days after start day of last period (depends on your normal cycle).Day 14 is considered optimum in 28 day cycles.
Correct.

"Most fertile?".......Between the 12-18day after the onset of your last NORMAL period.
It depends on your cycle but as far I was concerned it is 14 days before your period that you ovulate.

Thanks all - very helpful.
Hi, I tried to reply last night but then my stupid computer crashed! You should ovulate 14 days before the beginning of your period if you are regular that is.
The other signs of ovulation are an increase in discharge and it becomes stretchy (sorry if thats tmi!) This is to help the sperm swim to the eggy!
The best thing to do is to have sex 2-3 times every week and there will always be sperm waiting for when you do ovulate. Don't become obsessed like I did cos it stops it happening!
