I'm just looking for peoples advice, who have taken or are taking clomid. I've had two rounds of it already. First i took Primolut for a month to get my periods back as i had'nt had them in 14 months. Im also overweight which the doctor says could be affecting it too. My period came in June and i started taking the Clomid. There was 38 days between that first period in June and the one i had July. I'm finding it so hard to know when im ovulating.

Ive been using the ovulation testing sticks over the past few days but no LH surge has been detected. I also heard that if you have a sticky creamy colured discharge around the time that you would normally be ovulating that this is your fertile time, is this true? Im having that discharge right now. its been 16 days since 1st day of my last period. Its so frustrating. I know it going to take time but i'm just wondering has anyone else gone though this and does Clomid have a high sucess rate?

Hi buzybee.
It sounds like you need to get Mr buzybee in the sack right now!! Lol. I took clomid and made sure the 'deed' was done everyday from about day 9 onwards. It worked for us! I'd come of my pill then never really had a period for about 9 months ans doc tasted me several times for ovulation but it wasnt happening. My pill which I'd taken for 11 years had just made my ovaries go into hibernation. I took one round of 50mg clomid and had really bad cramps with it but it worked. Its so very very frustrating though hun. And it seems everyone else just had to look at each other to get pregnant!
Your doctor should be monitoring your blood for LH hormones every cycle of clomid and may up your dose to 200mg i believe, if it isnt making you ovulate. You shouldnt need to test yourself.
Dont give up though, I really have every faith in this drug, I'm now 19 weeks pregnant so it definately has success stories.
Chin up, take care.

I am taking clomid at the min, have been taking it for 3 months now, im due back at the hospital at the end of Aug, so far it hasnt worked for me, but everyone is different, there are also diff strengths so you may need the next one up. i have done ovulation test but never got a positive, so I gave up and just go with the flow! I think you can try to hard and concentrate on it to much, just have to relax and enjoy lots of practising!! lollyone is a good example of success story, she started taking clomid round about same time as me, and it worked for her, so keep your chin up and enjoy! x
