Our 8 month old daughter has nappy rash on her " Front Bits " - when I say nappy rash that is a mild term for it - her skin is red raw, sore to touch and nothing we have tried ( sudo-cream,Bepanthen,Vetanium ) has helped - we try to leave her nappy off as much as we can but it seems to flare up when in contact with poo even for a short time as we change her as soon as we know she has done one.
Going to the docs with her tomorrow but has anyone else had similar and found a cure ?

Try leaving nappy off as long as you can as you have been which is really good, also use only water to wash-NO baby wipes, some say weak soluton of camomile tea really soothing and apparently works but have never tried that.
Sometimes when teething the wee and poo can be very irritating.

Use Vaseline after wiping or washing the baby. I've use Vaseline from day one until the child turned three, and I can honestly say NOT ONCE has the child gotten a rash. Don't wait to see a rash or anything to apply Vaseline. Use it now, by tonight or morning the rash would disappear. Trust me.
use egg whites beat up a couple of egg whites then put them on the area and let them dry then put clean nappy on, it helps form a barrier from the urine and poo
Be careful using eggs on such a young baby, unless you know for a fact she is not allergic to eggs.
also dont forget that a baby teething can cause a nappy rash as well
my mother in law mentioned that fullers earth? i think this is the name is quite good.??? not sure of the name.
Try increasing her changes and baths.

When you bath her, only pat her dry with a soft towel, don't put anything on her skin, and make sure she is not left in any wet nappies for any length of time.

This will help her to heal.

Poor little soul - it's not easy being a baby is it!
welleda callenjula (i dont think i spelt thet right but i am sure you will get it) nappy change cream. I only ever found it in the small local health shop and it is about 5 a tube but lasts ages and clears up even nasty stuff. I lent it to my mate whose little girl literally had real weeping raw blisters and within a day it was gone. The stuff in magic.
Little leg had it bad egg whites helped as did sudocrem. If its really bad you should visit the doctors. But nappy off as much as possible anyway.
All good answers. Further to winny; calendula cream, made from the flat orange marigolds you see in summer, is as you say amazing. Used to sell it and can personally verify astonishing stories re healing, preventing and reducing scarring, especially on stretch marks. Safe, gentle and smells lovely too.
