hi im no expert but your oldest son is a teenager now so if you applied i cant see why they shouldnt give you a house its sounds like you need the space!
I agree, i definately think at 13 the council should allow your son to have his own room. It must be really difficult in high rise flats with little ones, so good luck.
In somerset they say a child of 5 need his her own space so I would have thought so. might be worth visiting Magna or the like for a place though,.-
Why should they 'give' you a house. Most people have to work and save for such a property, they are not just handed one

I live in a 3 bedroom privately rented house and I have 4 children ~ 1 boy & 3 girls.

The oldest one (a girl) is 16 & autistic. She has a bedroom to herself. The other two girls(9 & 4) share (I wouldn't be able to fit 3 beds in there anyway) the boy has his own room (he is 13). My stepdaughter visits every other weekend & sleeps on the bedroom floor on a Z bed.

We sleep in the lounge on a sofa bed. Not ideal, but it's all we can do at the moment as we can't get any help from the council..we are low priority. We can't afford a bigger house, & nobody is going to just give us one either.
