what is your definition of electrical potential energy? What do think it is?

I excelled at school answering this type of question (I never gave an incorrect answer).
The answer to this question, would be something like �fish & chips�.
This would be marked by my teacher as incorrect, to which I would point out that the questions asked was �what is MY definition of�.�.

I think the basis of this is in the definition of any form of energy which is "the ability to do work" . Potential energy is that which is stored, and I can only imagine a battery of some sort would fit this definition.
