I'll be moving back to UK from Scandinavia in the not to distant future. I would like to continue being self-employed, can anyone please let me know how much I can earn before tax & VAT are applicable?
Thanks!

Personal Tax free allowance 5035
VAT threshold is 61,000

Hi and thanks for your help in this matter.

You say that 61,000 is threshold for VAT,
is that total turnover?

I can sell my graphic services for a total of 50,000
each year without VAT?

What happens after 5,035, say a total of 15,000 is earned after all costs are deducted?
61,000 is turnover.
To work out you tax you take off the allwance of 5035 from 15,000.
leaving you with 9,965.
Then you pay 10% tax on the next 2,090 ( i think!)= 209 tax.
Leaving you with 7,875
You then pay 22% on 7,875 = 1,732.5
Your tax bill will be app 1,732.5 + 209 (10%) = 1,941.5
