Next door's either husband of about 65 years old or son 40 years old are playing some kind of game where they are blowing something up every second.

yesterday they played from 12 midday to 10.45pm - it is hard to stick and it is still going on. I'm just praying that some time they will get fed up of it.

They have played it before for all those hours - it does become wearisome for me but don't know what to do. Well I do - nothing.

Just a rant here. - you can hear it in the living room and even where I am upstairs on the computer.

Do you get on with them jj ? Would you be able to go round and have a word, probably make a joke of it by saying something like 'I was wondering what it is you keep blowing up' and then take it from there ..
I'm sure they have no idea how loud they are being. HIA makes a good suggestion.
Blowing up things? I hope they are not members of a proscribed organisation!
If it were me I’d go round and let them know that you wouldn’t want them to stop enjoying their game but if they could turn it down a bit or wear headphones you’d be very grateful as the explosions are rather loud on your side of the wall. You don’t want to let it go on if it’s bothering you because it will annoy you all the more the longer you leave it.
Do you know if it's a board game they're playing or something like Call Of Duty on a games console?
It must be LOUD.....doesn't jj have hearing difficulty?
Probably just playing with their dolls. :-)
It must be a console game, appose to a board game. One such as Battlefield or Call Of Duty maybe even Modern Warfare. The next door neighbours probably have their TV really loud making poor JJ feel like she;s in a war zone.
Gamers often play for prolonged periods of time and late into the night, probably blissfully unaware of the noise they're creating.

Suggest they get a headset.

I get on very well with them - we are semi-detached and we go back a long way as in we were neighbours in our old area.

Like i did crack up last night and at 10.30pm I put the hoover on right at my wall and kept it on for about 10 mins - nope when I turned it off - it still went on for about another 15-20 mins.

Surely one gets tired of playing and playing and blowing up.

I won't complain cos they have been so through so so much and still are. I put the TV on about an hour ago and it "covered" it.

Neighbours are too precious - but thanks all for replying.

That's right I am deaf but my hearing loss is I literally can't hear high-pitched but hear like low "bombs" going off. Heard plenty of those in my day.

Sister heard it on Sunday not for the first time and she thinks or hears that it is like a submarine or something getting blown up. I don't understand the wife putting up with it but she puts up with anything to keep them all happy.

sorry LOL - that was a long-winded post.
Are they Asian?
Question Author
no Ratter they are Oirish but because of what they have been through - most of the family if not all are bad with their nerves
Question Author
I know they also think because I am deaf I can't hear it.
Irish!! Well, JJ, they have been chucking them about a bit in the last week or so, ever thought of moving?
Just to concentrate their minds, place a block of wood against the partition wall and thump it with a 2lb club hammer.
Question Author
never ever - I will be carried out in a wooden box outta here. I am going to offer it up to God as a penance to myself - you know for Lent.
Knock on their door and politely complain.

If no joy, buy a baseball bat!
Question Author
well I have to admit about 4 Sundays ago I did crack up and banged all my lovely ornaments and lamps on the fireplace - like banged and banged but to no avail. They probably thought I had lost the plot - ach it is only Jenny LOL
