I am finding it difficult to think of a role for Osborne and Gove, unless No. 10 is in need of a couple of draught excluders.
Osborne in particular was an utterly terrible Chancellor, and Gove was responsible for the disatrous Free Schools that saw a ten fold increase in Muslim schools with almost nil supervision.

Of course the pair spoke under strict anonymity.

I agree gromit, let them play conkers on the back benches. Mrs May need not fear those two. Don't get too excited gulliver your beloved Labour will still be getting a kicking as per usual.

There was always going to be winners and losers when May took over.

On being elected, Theresa May will have spent some time carefully earmarking people for their roles and would have expected some fallout.

She was always going to freshen things up. No good being complacent despite the poor state of the opposition.

If the potential rebels have the best interests of the party to heart, they will get on with their jobs and put their egos to one side and ensure that the Party win another term like team players should.

We live in strange times ag. With no political opposition the good of the party isn't paramount. In fighting has and will continue until they have something to lose.

I suspect in 12 months time though, not a lot will have changed in terms of Party standings.

I've lost track of the number of fallouts and defections already in recent times..

I think it will take longer than 12 months to put Labour back together (I strongly suggest that it may not even be possible) and even longer to form a new credible party (which is what I believe has to happen).

Well, Tim Farron is confident of filling that centre ground! However, he and his party are playing a dangerous game over Brexit.

Labour are in need of serious fixing and yes, 12 months, is far too soon for a makeover worthy enough to challenge.

The LibDems may possibly win a by-election in Richmond Park and crawl tantalisingly close to having double figure number of MPs. Or they might not.

Labour will get tatered in Richmond Park which will get all the ToryLite Blairites calling for Corbyn's blood again.

Meanwhile May will continue to keep concealed the Government's Brexit course, and the endless speculation will be a cancer to her party.
