I cooked this over the weekend, absolutely brilliant, no peeling, no chopping, no boiling, no mashing. Never do it the old way again.

Is that the one done whole in the microwave ?
Question Author
Yes tamaris, I originally did it for 15 minutes, then another 5 then another 5 and it was done to a turn. Just scooped it out and job done.
I did one for the 1st time last week. In all it took 30 minutes, but it was great.
How do you do this Caran? Love swede but find the peeling a real pain.
Oops, just noticed a link.

Just put the whole swede in microwave, cook until done, no pricking or peeling.
Brilliant isn't it!
Answerbank is really weird sometimes.
I thought this was a question about one of the Abba girls.
We have swede at least once a week nowadays, thanks to this microwave method of cooking them. I try to buy the smaller ones and cook for 10 minutes one way, turn up for another 5 and keep turning and cooking until they squeeze soft. I then cut it in half and scoop out the flesh out in one go. Delicious.
LoL @ Hopkirk. Where do you buy them from and are they actually called that? x
I just put swinging swede in the search box on Tesco website and it said No Results.
They are just ordinary swedes, they only sing when nuked!
Possibly because you typed in swinging instead of singing.
Try putting 'swinging swede' into the Ikea website......you may have a bit more luck.
They're ordinary swedes. They 'sing' because of the steam escaping from tiny holes in the skin
That's funny Talbot. I've obviously made a typing error :-) x
So, you just buy an ordinary swede and put it in the microwave for 20 - 30 mins?
A whole swede? Six foot, blond and eminently desirable?
