Giveup, are you starting a thread with a nautical theme?
Hi Giveup....No but I will give it a try. I bought this when I was in Leeds. It's Raisthorpe Manor Sloe Liquer with Port.......so much nicer than Sloe Gin. x
Gness, which shop in Leeds did you buy it from? It sound delish xx
Bought it on a visit to Harewood House MrsO....they had samples which I felt obliged to try you understand....then bought the largest bottle I could only because the smaller bottles were on a high shelf......and you know my problem there. :-(

I make sloe gin (the ten year old one is out of this world) but sloe port sounds delicious. Will have a go when sloes are about. Purely for research you understand.
What a load of lunch-time alchies we have here.......

DT research purposes only.
I too make sloe gin, giveup, I have 9 bottles 'cooking' in France awaiting my return to bottle them.
Also a trial bottle of plum.
I have sloe gin and damson gin to start drinking from last year.
I have quince gin and vodka ready to drink.
I too have bottles from years ago that are so delish I am reluctant to drink them because they will then be gone......

If you need a taster I'm always available.
Just been browsing the recipes for what to do with the 'used' sloes and it seems that they can be added to sherry as well as port.
There is one where you add 500gms of sloes to a bottle of red wine, 100gms of sugar, leave for 6 months and then decant and add 200ml of brandy thus creating a sloe port - I might give that a go next autumn.
