I wonder what strange ideas you have come across recently in other people ?
Today I overheard a girl in an off licence explaining to the shopkeeper that Vodka would not show up on a breath test !
I interrupted her to tell her she was talking absolute rubbish, she was convinced for some reason that Vodka had some special property that made it 'invisible' to a breathalyser. She was quite put out to be told her pet theory was wrong . What if any strange beliefs have you lot come across ?
I don't mean religious ones !by the way.

One of my daughter's schoolfriends was convinced you couldn't get pregnant if you did it standing up......
That you can't get pregnant the first time you "Do It".

I have heard both of those two myths myself.
That you get curly hair if you eat your crusts.
That some fat guy in a red suit brings you presents.
My mum didn't trust Tony Blair because his eyes were too close together. I didn't trust him either, but not for that reason!

The trouble & strife has strange ideas over itchy palms. "Left to give, right to receive". This works alright. My left palm itches, I have to give money to someone. My right palm itches, some other sod receives money after handing me a bill for something.
I could never get through to my father that a moggie was not a mouse.
Presumably your father was from Lancashire, where moggy is indeed slang for mouse.
You learn something everyday markrae

My Mum was a fan of the eat your crusts to make your hair curl as well, first time I have remebered that in many years. I actually liked crusts best part of the bread as far as I was concerned but my hair was and is straight.
I remember being told the ichy palms one as well.
What triggered this question was the post from someone who thought a learner could drive a car as long as the cars owner was over 25 and had had a licence for 2 years,( along with the Vodka girl ).
That a pregnant woman can pee in a policeman's helmet

I've not heard that variation of the Vodka thing, just that it can't (rubbish) be smelt on the breath. Believe me when I say it can be - eeuuwww

Also if you die in parliament they have to give you a state funeral according to the same artical
If you accidentally eat the pips of an apple they will grow inside you and eventually kill you.
it is a misinterpretation of that very old law

A family down the road from us was convinced that net curtains stopped people seeing in at night as well as in daytime. I even got the eldest girl to stand outside in the road while I waved at her from her bedroom, but she still would not believe that people could see her getting undressed.
Made a lot of chaps very happy though.
Tooth fairy......
heard somebody say say both alan and jimmy carr were funny
I had a friend that believed drinking diet Coke actually made you lose weight.
