Does anyone know at what time of the day the banks update their online banking service? Is it at midnight, or maybe 2am, 6am or what? I am expecting a decent sum of money being paid into my account and was told it would be there on the 12th. Not there yet.

I had always thought it was midnight, I too was looking for a transaction which wasn't there at 00.01 am - I think it must be around 2am, my transaction was there when I got up in the morning.

Thanks boxtops - will go to bed and hope it's there in the morning.
I'd wait until say 7.00- 8.00 the morning. You can't really ring the payer at 1.00 in the morning to complain if it's not there. Are you planning to spend some of it before breakfast?
Should be there now- has it arrived??
Might need some of it to buy breakfast?
My bank says by 9am....

And sometimes (for some transactions) it can be the following day.....

Thanks for all the answers. Money not there but not surprised as it is the bank that owes me. They told me it would be refunded on 12/10/11 and its not there. I can feel a visit to the branch coming on. Watch out for news of a mad woman knocking three kinds of s**t out of a bank manager.
