Okay, well ive been talking to this girl (e-mailing her on facebook and stuff) i didnt treaten her at all but i said that i want her and her boyfriend to get back together, but i sent alot of emails trying to convince her. and did some other silly stuff aswell. she might have told the police, i just want to know if im in serious trouble or not, and if they can get a court order to get my ipaddress because they could get my email off facebook. I want to know if i am in alot of trouble or they will just not consider doing anything cause its not that big of a deal.

In a case I was personally involved in, the police did not get a court order, but they went to the internet site and got the chap's address, traced his work (silly fool used a work pic in his profile) and went after him.

I think you need to be a bit more explicit as to exactly what you said and what "other silly stuff" was involved.

Unless it was really serious, I doubt whether the police will bother, but you could end up with your facebook account terminated or your email account suspended.

EXTRA INFO: as for the other silly stuff, i asked for nude pics but that was my friends idea, and she said no and i stopped asking, also i made a fake facebook and a fake name with a fake email address.
I am not sure I really understand this.

Let me guess you WERE her boyfriend? You created a fake name and email address and started up a conversation with her in an attempt to persuade her to go back to you? Whilst doing so you asked for nude pics?

How old are you? How old is she?

I should imagine nothing will come of it - unless she has persistently told you to leave her alone and you have ignored her, in which case you could face a harassment charge. Possible but unlikely.

i apologized after and i said i was going to leave her alone for now on. and i stopped. im really scared i could get in alot of trouble right now... i think she got the cops invovled and her teachers
I appreciate you are scared. But how about you answer the questions I have asked and give us a bit more info. We can't advise on half the info.

Are you in the same class?
Question Author
no. not the same class, im in highschool grade 11, and im not her boyfriend, dont ask why i want her and her ex to get back together.
why do you want her and her ex to get back together?
Question Author
lol dont ask... its a long story and its irrelevent to my situation
Snagged. Behave.

Skiing are you in the UK or US?
Question Author
so will they go to finding me and charging me? will my school suspend me? or is it not as big?
Your use of the term "high school 11th grade" makes me think that you are not based in the UK. Is that right?
Question Author
yes it is, im in canada, please answer:(
I am sorry but I can only advise on the position in the UK. Most of this site (or at least the legal part) is based on UK law. I have no idea of what laws you may or may not have broken in Canada.

I suggest you google to see if you can find a similar site aimed at Canadian law.
I don't think it's against the law anywhere to have a fake Facebook name. Asking for nude photos was a dumb idea, but doing it only once almost certainly isn't harassment. (Doing it twice, especially if she said no, might be.) A lot of this will depend on state law, but I'm guessing that if you're in any trouble it will be small rather than big. From what you've said it sounds pretty much like typical teenage interaction.

What your school might do I've no idea, it'll have its own policies. If you apologised already, that should help.
If it helps though, as far as UK law is concerned, I doubt very much the police would bother - in fact, I can't actually see that you have broken a law (in the UK that is). I doubt the school would either as long as you promise to leave the young lady alone in future.

ye, i apologiized for everything ive done, and said i dont stalk her and that ive stopped and that what i was doing was wrong, im just afraid they will find me... i used a fake address, fake name, fake postal code for my email address, face age, city and so on. and ichanged my ipaddress

Look I shouldn't worry. As you said you weren't threatening and appear to have covered your tracks I'd just accept this as a valuable lesson!!
If that's all you did I don't know why she'd bother telling anyone. I doubt the Mounties would bother any more than UK police would. Real stalkers are a problem, silly talk on Facebook isn't usually.

You probably know not to do it again...

no
