Broadband speed is constant and it makes no difference where you are, unlike broadband which is dependent on the BT lines .

V+ records tv; pauses and rewinds tv; no interference from weather or obstructions.

You do not need a telephone line - I don't have a telephone line and say 11 a month odd on line rental. I use Skype.
Forgot to say - with the V+ box you can record two programmes and watch a third programme.
Fibre optic cable does have benefits compared with getting your TV from Sky via Satellite.

In the last few weeks, during this awful wet weather, I have ofen lost my Sky single and not been able to watch a program.

I have broadband via a Virgin fibre optic cable and it is excellent.

Broadband over a BT line does get worse the further you are from the telephone exchange. This is NOT the case over fibre optic and it does not matter how far you are from the exchange the signal stays the same strength.
