Age of 'it' being the licence or the person?

You could try the motoring section, or as a very very very very last resort, google.

I would presume someone of 70 years old would have to re-apply for their licence.
A normal full UK driving licence remains valid until the driver is aged 70; thereafter it is issued for three years, renewable. DVLA sends a reminder and application form about six weeks before the relevant birthday. You have to fill in a health questionaire and send back your existing licence. Miraculously, there is no charge!
