Onwards and Downwards Continues in May

Hi Everyone,

Well it looks like we may actually have some nice weather soon after about a month of rain. Will many of you now be able to get out and about more and hopefully get a bit more exercise?

I know I will!

Here is last months thread

Thanks Wendilla and Maidup....I shall take my new teapot with me to the naughty step. I'm glad that there is no company for me as yet.
I'm up half a pound. I know when I've eaten something I shouldn't, and I'm annoyed with myself. I was wondering if I came on here and wrote down the things I shouldn't have eaten every time I do it, it might stop me doing it so often. What do you think?
Sorry to hear that notafish - behave on that step you two.

I think its definitely worth writing it down when you eat the wrong things, it helps to focus and remind yourself whats what. It also helps us to remember what we should be avoiding and maybe we can offer a few new suggestions between us.
Nearly forgot to post, probably because I was so surprised. Lost 4lb this week so very pleased and just hope I can carry on as now lost 5st 4lb.
Go to the top of the class Jan! That might be a good idea notafish, or otherwise you could just keep a "Sin Journal" for yourself. Whatever works for you.......anyhow you are joining me on the naughty step...
Well done Jan you must certainly be feeling the benifit of your good work. When I have a bad week and in the supermarket I pick up a few of those blocks of lard and say to myself that I don't want to put that lot back on again.
Wow that's impressive. Well done.
How's the search for the new scales going OG?
I found some on the Internet that seemed a possibility and posed a question to the seller, but not had an e-mail response. Was thinking earlier today that I ought to go to their site to see if they could be bothered to answer at all.

Meanwhile I noticed that I still had the "carpet feet" attachments to my present scales even though I'd moved them to the kitchen (where the only uncarpeted area is) so I removed them. Tentatively I'd say they seem more consistent, but that said it's bad enough having to go downstairs in the morning to weigh myself before the shower, I can't find the enthusiasm to go downstairs in the nuddy again to see what they say after the shower too.
:-( The site is still claiming "No questions asked yet". Maybe they aren't as legitimate as they seem, maybe I should try a more expensive website.
Morning all. Bit last posting this week as attended a funeral yesterday. As expected weight has stayed the same as I indulged slightly at the chinese buffet we attended to celebrate Mr BD retiring from work last Friday. Started off with good intentions and just had chicken and mushrooms with steamed vegetables but also had pancakes with duck and plum sauce. At the end of the meal I really enjoyed the profiteroles but did limit myself to just four smallish ones. At least I did not put any weight on. Going to be really good this week but not being helped by Mr BD trying to perfect a recipe for french baguettes and baking two or three a day! The smell is amazing and very tempting but I'm going to do my best to resist. Our neighbours are enjoying the results of his efforts as he is handing the baguettes out to them. It's a ploy really to fatten up the neighbours to make me look a lot slimmer! Well done to everyone and good luck for the next week.
OG I have an easier solution to your problem. Just get a Digital set from Argos or any drug store.
Hi Bakers dozen good to stay the same but be careful it don't catch up with you for next week.. Home made bread mnnnnnn very hard to resist that is why I leave my breadmaker out of sight.
Difficult to do - he even comes to bed with me! lol
lol
Very much lol
Well wendilla I'm unsure that is an answer for me. Having been through the experience of buying scales that seemed to have a problem, and then recently deteriorated, I'm very wary of just going out and buying any scales. I'd anticipate the same problems, my purse that much lighter, and me being even more stressed out than usual. (Besides I'm hooked on the precision thing now so I'm reluctant to lose that bit.) I need to feel sure I've done all I can to get what I will be happy with.
Well done to those who have lost or stayed the same. I like that BD has a bread maker she can take to bed :-).
OG Why do you weigh yourself before AND after a shower? A few weeks back I weighed myself before and after a shower and I did get a different reading. I think the best time to weigh is first thing in the morning before a shower, and before breakfast. Once a week is probably enough IMO.
I agree with you there notafish.
Initially because I found when I checked an unexpected weight reading prior to the shower I wasn't consistent, so I tried afterwards as well. I'm not convinced there should be any change comparing before and after, I don't wash off that much dirt, or soak in that much water. It should always be consistent. Yes I often hear once a week is enough, maybe for some but I like to know how it is going so it doesn't suit me. Anyway if it were only once a week then a false reading would be there the whole week.
