Happy New Year to all of you and well done to everyone!!

I will be making no mention of how everyone may have slipped up over the festive season (including myself) but, instead, can anyone think of one positive thing about January to help us get over one of the most difficult months of the year.

Thanks for the welcome folks, will certainly be visiting on a regular basis. Everyone seems very positive and it's great to have support.

Old geezer, you need to come to Zumba with us. Ive really toned up what was my spare tyre. Ive dropped 2 dress and trouser sizes too.
My OH tried to do Zumba at home with me yesterday and we fell about laughing. He said we seemed more like Morecambe and wise :>) Its great fun
I read this today somewhere about eating.....eat breakfast as a king, lunch as a prince and supper as a begger.

Well I didn't have any kingly breakfast but tried to put the lunch into princely proportions and now on to supper hmmmmm
Zumba eh ? Hmm I'm unsure I want to exercise outside the my own house any more. Too embarassing. Which leaves me to wondering if I really ought to buy one of those consoles for doing this sort of thing at home where I can't be seen.

I suspect a calorie is a calorie no matter when it is eaten. But 3 cheers for the all day breakfast. It means you can feast like a king early morning, mid day, and evening too !
Hi, I posted this on Food and Drink today, but seeing all your success stories, can anyone help me with this question please. I am looking for a Vegetable soup recipe from a Weight Watchers leaflet thingie from about October/November 2009. I thought I still had it, but cannot find it any where, and it is so lovely. Can anyone help me with this please. Thanks. (I did get some very good replies on food and drink-but not the one I am after).
My OH bought me a portable DVD player and the zumba dvds for Xmas so I can do it at home whenever I cant get to classes

I can't believe it that I have put on 1 kilo this week and yet been eating the size portions that I should...and the right food, but I have always done that. It is the size of the portions that has been my undoing. I am down in the dumps now......
Oh dear xstitcher. Never mind, if you've identified the cause at least you can change it for next week.

I'm down 1½ lbs after the shower (only ½ lb before !) Still, right direction anyhow.
Well that's a start.I am off the naughty step. 2lbs loss. I did expect a little more but I am very pleased with that. Don't despair Xstitcher you know what to do . It is just one of these things like I thought I had lost more this week..As for your soup recipe Mumsie I just put in a mixture of all veg with either a chicken stock cub or veg one .I do it in my slow cooker .Sometimes I liquidise it.If you start adding things apart from veg. you could defeat the object. Onwards and Downwards for next week with no one on the naughty step.

Here is a tip for the kitchen....if you are using and egg or eggs just to bind food together for example meat loaf or crab cakes, just use the egg whites. They will do the job and you are not using the yolks which are 13% fat believe it or not...onwards and downwards.....
Well done Wendilla and OG, only 1lb loss for me this week but I am happy with that as after last week's loss I have to admit I did some celebrating. 3st 10lb lost now. Cheer up xstitcher, at least you know your undoing so can do something about it. Good luck all for next week.
Well done Jan you are certainly doing well. I bet you feel much better for it. And don't say only 1 lb .It is better off than on.

Couldnt believe it at SW weigh in last night. 4 and half pounds loss !!! Yippee. Thats back to how I was 2 weeks ago. I havnt really done anything different either, except go to Zumba 1 extra day. And thats with having pub fish and chips and half a lager last Sat. The way my body works is certainly a mystery to me. Got to really keep it going now, and hope you all do too. Good luck x

I had a hard time in the supermarket today. There were so many temptations. Usually I just say to myself ....not allowed....and that is that, but today I let myself invision what it would be like to eat this and that.....not a nice place to go to.....the long and the short was that I got home without sinning but definitely feeling very hard done by.

I was very brave and got on the scales yesterday having not weighed myself since the beginning of December, and to my surprise I only put on 3lb despite all the naughty things I've eaten. I thought I'd put on half a stone so its given me the inspiration to get back on track.
Well you are lucky Tiger, but it isn't a good idea not to keep up the weekly weighing...I'm saying that to everyone. Not only do you use a lot of time worrying about what you think you have put on but you also can start to comfort yourself by treats that shouldn't exist in your life.
At the moment I have a very noisy devil on my left shoulder telling me to buy a bag of peanuts in the shell because if I do and eat them, then I will get the yearning out of my system. HA, no way am I buying into that !!
Good Morning, Hallelujah....down exactly 1 kilo. I'm jumping up and down for joy. I won't be doing my exercises for the immediate because tomorrow I am having my first cataract procedure done and the exercises are ruled out so wonder what the effect will be.
I hope the rest of you will also have good news......onwards and downwards
