I really pigged over Christmas and New Year and feel fatter, especially round the middle.
I was seriously thinking of rejoining SW to shift it. However, I weighed myself this morning for the first time in 3 weeks and found that I have lost 1 lb.
Can weight migrate from your feet to your waist? My shoes are looser!!!

no but if you have splurged on carbs you might hold some extra fluid round your middle despite losing fat over all
Weight can fluctuate not just day-to-day,but also morning and night. Weigh again this evening, and then tomorrow morning-you may have a better idea of your daily pattern then.
Also-the body will burn carbs before it burns fat...if you eat more carbs than fat-fat is stored.
Over the last month I've been running 3 miles a day but I've definitely put an inch on my waist over Chrsitmas. I don't have a set of working scales so haven't weighed myself but I don't feel any heavier and certainly feel a lot fitter
refined carbs are notorious for causing bloating, once you get back to normal food eating you may find that you lose the extra fat.

Hi, everyone
Thank you for your kind answers - they are very encouraging. I am sure it must have been the carbs that did the damage - Thornton's chocolates, Turkish Delight, Christmas cake - I won't go on.
The odd thing is that until I weighed myself this morning, I felt fat, frumpy, negative and rather 'down'. I wouldn't even wear the new dress I'd bought for New Year.
Now I fee ljust great (but I'd look a bit stupid going to the shops in an evening dress).
Have a big sirloin steak ready to cook this evening - no carbs but lots of chilli and garlic. PLEASE don't tell me it's unhealthy.
well the chilli and garlic are good for you...
Water is denser than fat so if you replace fat with an equal volume of water then you will be heavier.
