No, he got the hump & walked off
No he wasn't pushed.

Humpty Dumpty is not an egg. No where in the rhyme does it refer to him as an egg. It was was reference to the King, George III who famously went mad.

The anti-monachist poem was sanitised, probably by the Victorians when he became an egg.
Alright then, Humpty jumped!
it merely said he had a great fall. praps he was american and had a fairly ok-ish summer. but the fall was great.
humpty dumpty was in fact a cannon
The theory that Humpty Dumpty was a cannon used in the siege of Colchester in 1648 during the English Civil War is often stated as fact.[2] However, the additional 'discovered' verse which reveals this meaning was actually written as a spoof for the Oxford Magazine in 1956 by Professor David Daube.[3] The story was originally attributed to Gloucester and has no substance in fact, despite its adoption by the tourist industry of Colchester.
