ya I thought so :(
some women would view it as an admission of guilt

ell im not with her so its not like i wil be spending money on a meal or anything. guilty to buy my gf flowers on v day huh?
either theyve bumped the prices up realy hight this year or youve bought too many
If I was your g/f (I'm not asking to be, don't worry), if you were going to spend that kind of money, I'd much rather it was on something that would last more than a few days.

Jewellery or whatever.

I'd rather you didn't spend any money on me at all on valentines day as I'd appreciate snuggling up on the sofa eating popcorn and watching a movie far more.

I think I'm in a minority though?
oh I see, well I hope she likes flowers then! 80quid can buy a lot I would imagine !
Hope the flowers are made of diamonds
No I think 80 is okay - I spend 75 to 100 for my mum on Mothers Day

Craft1948 and poltergeist, that is excessive, end of, you must have to try and prove something, My Mom would actually be horrified if I spent that much on Mothers Day and me vice versa with my kids. A nice homemade card and family dinner makes the day and a bunch of tulips even better. 80 pound is ridiculous but each to their own.
are you Elton John?
Nope I am with Lakitu on this. Lovely as it is to receive a huge bouquet of flowers, I would actually prefer the gift of time, which is something none of us have for each other nowadays.

I'd be over the moon and would then need resuss if my other half gave me roses on Valentine's Day
You say you're not with your gf - do you have a long distance relationship or are you just not seeing her on Valentine's day?

Still think it's nice but being together would be nicer
