A friend informed me yesterday that David Attenborough has recently become a father. At 95 that would be a miracle I think, but she was quite insistent. Does anyone have any idea who she was thinking of? I googled him (just in case) as you do, but nothing was mentioned. I could only think of Mick Jagger, David Jason and Ronnie Woods who have had children fairly recently when they were older.

Men can father children at any age but I've not heard of anyone famous becoming a father at that age recently.

Men 'can' father at any age and so can women.. However the older a man gets the slower, and worse quality his sperm becomes, making his child have slightly increased % of having issues.

But as they say, it's a wise child that knows its own father.

The menopause is unique to each woman.. It is possible for a woman to birth at the age of 60 if she's not yet reached the menopause.. If she never does then in theory she could become pregnant at any age

I'm sure I read that Harrison Ford is to become a father, aged 74.

there is no news of this on BBC, where it would make a topical headline, so that is one story debunked.

My Mum's friend's Dad was 90 when he was born, and died when he was 97. He remembers him really fondly as a great Dad, which is really sweet, but I haven't heard anything about David Attenborough.

Oh dear, I really didn't want to start a debate about what age men or women can produce children!!!!

Harrison Ford is 76 according to his bio, and there doesn't seem to be any info on impending fatherhood.

Harrison Ford's current mrs is Calista Flockhart and she is 53, that doesn't rule her out entirely, unless he has been naughty with a younger model.....
