Just replaced a toilet roll. Now, it only seems like days since I put the last one in the bathroom. Would I be right in thinking that they are shorter than they used to be? I've tried every type from the cheepos to the most expensive and it doesn't seem to make any difference. Another "secret" price hike?

Squeeze it before putting holder so it doesn't run so freely. I am Scottish!

Me too Gavmacp, must try that lol.
It is only me and the two kitties in the house and we go through toilet rolls much faster than in the past. Even allowing for the ones that are killed and then disembowelled by my two furry hunters we still use too many.

I don't know what the reason is.
Me too - I am in the Fair City.
But then surely it wouldn't look all neat and round.

(not Scottish, but I went to Middlesbrough last weekend, so I've been near to Scotland)
Use one sheet each time - it'll go a lot further
Not sure, but no doubt someone will get to the bottom of it.
My father was a great advocate for using one sheet! I have been unable to carry on the tradition.
It says on most packets these days how many sheets to a roll. The 'shop's own' brand seems better value, but if you work it out, there's generally less sheets on a roll and the quality of the paper isn't as nice, not as soft in my experience. I find Cushelle to be the best value. I only buy Andrex these days if they have an offer on. Tesco's own was like using sandpaper in comparison!
well it must be you, unless you share the toilet that is.
What's a toilet roll?

Still using knotted string and newspaper squares here ☺☺☺
you haven't got a labrador puppy by any chance?
Have you been eating lots of curry ;-)
aelmpvw - trouble is the fur gets matted...

Ha ha, thanks for all the laughs. As danny says, I'll get to the bottom of it one of these days.

Money Saving Tip.

"Use Both Sides!"
I was looking in the mirror after a bath and thought everything is getting smaller these days!
// use both sides //

?

Surely that only applies to underwear.
Reminds me of that episode in Porridge , where Fletcher gives Godber one sheet of his toilet paper and says to Godber -

'' Be careful Now ''
