Hi all, I don't live with my boyfriend , I do spend a lot of time at his house. He has two children at home , a lad of 18 and girl of 15. ow, no matter what time I get to his place there is always a pile of washing up to be done, ok I don,t mind that , but there is always a mess , one would think there were three little kids living there. Now today I am fed up, do you reckon the kids could help, ??

Well yeah I guess, however its his house and his kids. Surely up to him to do/say something?
Seems a normal healthy UK "set up"
And him....he could do it too...
Sqad, UK and Ibiza, I think I am the only one in my house who even thinks about washing up. Mr N and hija will just pile it into the sink, without thinking.
They could, but their not your kids to make such decisions about.
Have to say I wasn't roped in to many house chores when I was a kid.
you dont live there so you shouldnt be doing it. Just leave it where it is.
It's his house so it's up to him to sort out. If you're going around there and then doing the washing up because it annoys you then that's your choice, personally I would advise if that is what you're doing, that you stop doing it and leave them to get on with it.
same here neti - and even if I do manage to get them to do it, it's needs doing properly afterwards!
Does it Sqad?

Mine clean up after themselves....

They don't go out and do the dishes after dinner (unless told to) but they wash up their own stuff if they make snacks etc.
netty....look at the difference......boyfriend, teenaged kids, no wife to be seen, pile of cr@p in the sink...I bet ash trays full of cigarette buts..............................archetypal UK family situation.

Hi B00 maybe it is, I told him today how fed up I am , so he might.
Sqad....ummm "set up " don't like the sound of that !!
Ummmmmmm he could indeed !!
Hi Netti, like I said I don't mind but today when I go there I felt like the cleaner !!x
-- answer removed --
Buy him a dish washer for Christmas. Problem solved.
redhelen....I loved the UK, the UK that I was born in, educated in and worked in.....but alas, quite different from the UK of today.
redhelen, Sqad is probably like myself, we do not hate the UK, we hate what it has become.
Basically what I said then sqad!
